For example, if this phone number changes, I can edit the phone number here, type in the new one, dismiss the onscreen keyboard, and look for other items to change. Choose a field to edit or add a new field if one is available. When you learn new information about a contact, edit the contact information to reflect those changes. Instead when you tap a phone number, it may start the Skype app, Hangouts or some other app from which you can place phone calls on a tablet. On an Android tablet, the phone number doesn't link to the dialer app as Android tablets aren't phones. To send a text message, use this icon here, or you can choose individual items to call or text as shown in the list. To send email to a contact, tap the email address. The amount of details available depends on how the contact was created, and of course you can add or change information as it becomes known to you. A picture, if one is available, the contact's name, phone numbers, email addresses, and other details. Various devices display the information in different ways, but the basic details are the same. As the list narrows, choose the contact you want to view. For particularly long list of contacts, use the search bar and start typing the contact's name. Scroll the list or use the index to find an entry. The Name format item chooses whether the name appears first name first or last name first. The Sort by item shows how the list is sorted, by first name or by last name. To change the list order, choose the side menu icon and in the navigation drawer, choose Settings. The presentation shows favorite or starred contacts first, then comes the full list alphabetically by first name. The contacts you see are pulled from your Google account as well as other accounts you've added to the device, plus you can create new contacts from scratch. Not all address book apps look like this one, the Contacts app, but each has similar features.
